My daughter thinks butts are hilarious.
She just stuck her rump up near my face and farted, big time.
And it was smelly.
And I'm trying to eat dinner.
Bleh!

It seems my friends and family are keeping doctors hopping this week.
My best pal had knee surgery yesterday. Thank HVNS. She blew out her knee just before Halloween and various attempts to fix/stabilize it between then and now haven't turned out so well. One of her dogs tripped her a few weeks ago and down she went. She tore two ligaments and the meniscus. Hopefully the surgeon was able to repair it all and she'll be back up bouncing again soonish.
My Dad had his 2nd cataract surgery this morning. Mom said it's odd to see his eyeball in layers. He had good success with his first eye last month, so they're quite optimistic about this one.
After baffling the ER doctor and my general physician, I saw an oral surgeon a few weeks ago. I've had a lump inside my tongue for about 5-6 weeks now. He suspects it's a rogue salivary gland but it's in an odd place, way under the surface. It responds to heat (swells when left at "mouth" temperature, but nearly disappears after eating/drinking something hot.
So tomorrow, they're going to give me a shot in my tongue (a local anesthetic) and cut into it and remove whatever it is in there, then stitch it up. Doesn't that sound FUN?
I know. Compared to JT and her hubby's ordeal, Judy's knee, and my dad's eyeballs, a tongue is pretty minor but it's MY tongue and I want it fully functional. I have plans for it later this summer! I think I'm more worried about the shot than anything. Even the word sounds nasty, don't you think? SHOT. bleh.
Hmm. Do you think a couple of shots before the shot would be helpful? I don't usually drink alcohol but it's sounding pretty sweet right now!
I can't remember how long I was on the first blog site (m-blog, then tblog, now LJ), but I've been writing posts regularly since at least 2003, maybe even 2001 - seems like I was posting pics of the baby when I started.
Dang. I have a pretty dull life - work, home, family, that's about it - and yet that's never stopped me from writing nearly every day :) I'm happy to have you all along for the ride, too! I like the company :)
Here's to 5 (?) more years!
For the first time ever, and I'm 45, I remembered to let my first words spoken on the 1st of a month be "rabbit rabbit". yay! I finally remembered! Just one problem. I can't remember what the point of it was.
My daughter is 6 (and a half, as I'm reminded). Her class is having a "reader week" where they are to log all the books they read for 7 days. I asked her to read today's book outloud to me and she did beautifully. The only word that tripped her up was "precious". I'm so proud of her! I love hearing her read in that little bitty voice :)
